Dress Rehearsals

Important Information on Dress Rehearsals

In the week leading up to the opening there will be a series of extra rehearsals you will need to attend.

Friday 2nd Dec - Sitzprobe (fancy word for 'sing along' with the band....)
5:00 - 7:30) but stay straight after school for costuming.

Saturday 3rd Dec and Sunday 4th Dec - All day rehearsals
10am - 3pm

Tuesday 6th Dec and Wednesday 7th Dec - All Day rehearsals (you will not be going to classes but need to catch up on any work)PLUS EVENING 6:30 - 8:30

Rehearsal Schedule for the last week of term before Christmas!!!!!!

Tuesday 17th December 4-6pm
EVERYONE NEEDED
See the sheet below detailing the songs we will be doing.  We will film for the blog and the cast and band will officially meet for the first time!

Wednesday 18th December  4- 5.30pm
ALL CAST NEEDED
Click track recording 1 – Innuendo to start off with.  We may need to evict some of you from the auditorium during recording.  Please be prompt and maintain quiet in the auditorium. 

Thursday 19th December  4-6pm

Depending on how things go on Wednesday, we may need to recall certain people (main cast and vocal booth mainly) for further click recordings.

Information for Week beginning 16 th Dec


1.       The vocal guide tracks for killer queen are now up on the student resources drive – people who sing in this (you know who you are!) get practicing them ready for click track recording.
2.       Rehearsals this week – no after school rehearsals for cast  due to Bugsy.  Band will rehearse on Thursday as normal.  Monday – please can we have Emily Spampanato, Sophia Lerigo, Katy Rochford, Charlotte Walker, Paige Smith and Ellie Kurton in music area at 1.30pm.

3.       REMEMBER – TUESDAY 17th DECEMBER = EVERYONE UNTIL 6PM IN THE AUDITORIUM WITH YOUR AMAZING BAND J
4.       CLICK TRACK RECORDING – WEDNESDAY 18TH DECEMBER (EVERYONE) AND PROBABLY THURSDAY 19TH DECEMBER (SELECTED CAST)

Queen clip of the week – there are two clips this week!


First one – here is Freddie Mercury working the crowd at the famous Wembley gig.  Hopefully we will do some of this at the end of ‘We are the Champions’ before Robbie’s long note.  What do you think?



Second one – One Vision.  It is really interesting to hear how the song has been adapted for the stage show.  I love the energy of the performance – even in the recording studio Freddie was leaping around.  Off-stage vocalists – you need to think how you can inject the same energy into your vocal performance when you are not visible.  After seeing this I may need to put back in the breakdown section and let it be a drum feature section – what do you think?
